Monstera Deliciosa is known as the Swiss Cheese Plant because of the slits and holes in its leaves. Monstera adansonii, the Adanson monstera, Swiss cheese plant or five-hole plant, is a flowering plant species from the Araceae family that is common in much of South America and Central America. When cultivated as a houseplant, Swiss cheese plants are usually grown from young nursery plants and can be potted at any time. In Latin, “monstera” means “monstrous” or “abnormal”.

How do you care for a Monstera Adansonii plant?
The Swiss cheese factory (Monstera adansonii) gets its common name from its large, heart-shaped leaves, which develop holes as the plant ages (in a process known as fenestration). Are Monstera Adansonii easy to care for?
And although all monsteras are considered vines, Adansonii has a trailing quality that makes it a good choice for hanging baskets or training in a room. This isn't necessary to keep your Monstera Adansonii plant alive, but it can increase its health and growth.
